Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Argo,87, died at her residence in Hickman on Saturday, June 23, 2012. She was a retired funeral directors’ assistant for Strong Funeral Home and a member of the First Church of God where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Mrs. Argo was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over fifty years and had served as a board member on the Hickman Chamber of Commerce and the Hickman Country Club. Mrs. Argo was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Nannie Trusty; husband, James P. Argo; daughter, Jenny Lou Tarver and sister, Linda Wiseman. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James T. (Jimmy) and Karen Argo of South Fulton, TN ; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Tommy Stayton of Hickman; sisters, Velva (Baby Doll) Yarbro of Hickman, Juanita Reichard of West Memphis, AR and Judy Parker Young of Memphis, TN; grandchildren: Shari Wilkins, Barry Tarver, Sarah Rice, Chad Argo, Kim Kirby, Missy Hurst, Heath Carlton and Brad Carlton and several great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 25, 2012 at the First Church of God with Revs. Gary Poe and Henry Callison officiating. Burial will be in the Hickman City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 24th at the First Church of God and again on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until service time.
