James Albert “Abner” Riley, 76 of Hickman died on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Baptist Health in Union City, TN. James was born in Hickman, KY on March 31, 1937 to the late Woodrow and Lovie (Parker) Riley. He had worked as a mechanic for the former Castleman Motors. James was of Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Taylor Riley. Riley is survived by his brothers, Paul “Speck” Riley and N.D. Riley, both of Union City, TN and Clyde Riley of Hickman; sisters, Juanita Short of Blytheville, AR and Frances Wroten of South Carolina and 19 nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. at Strong Funeral Home on Friday, December 27, 2013 with Rev. Henry Callison officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Strong Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 AM until service time at 2:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be: Paul Wilson Riley, Randy Wroten, Charlie Roberts, James Bardin, Edward Simmons, N.D. Riley, Clyde Riley and Paul “Speck” Riley.
