Mr. Brantly D. Amberg, 86, of Hickman died on July 1, 2015 at his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired Lt. Col. in the Army Reserve . Mr. Amberg had been a practicing attorney in Hickman for 47 years, having also served as City Attorney of Hickman, District Judge and assistant Commonwealth Attorney. Mr. Amberg graduated from the Commerce at University of KY and the Law School at University of KY, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega. He had been a member of the Civitan Club of Hickman, serving as former President, member of the Lions Club, Fulton Co. Levee Board and Home Federal Credit Association. Mr. Amberg was born in Hickman on June 15, 1929 to the late William Boardman Amberg and Charlotte (Hubbard) Amberg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Augustus, William and Charles Amberg , sister, Alice Amberg Karsner and great grandson, Dylan Goodman. Survivors include his wife, Betty (Tipton) Amberg of Hickman, son, John(Robin) Amberg of Hickman, daughter, Amelia (Matt) Mikel of Paducah , 6 grandchildren , John B.(Amy) Amberg, Jennifer Jackson, Jessica (Austin) Goodman, Ryan Amberg, Anna Grace Johnson and Owen Mikel, 6 great grandchildren, Ian Goodman, Wesley Goodman, Riley Mae Goodman, Brently Amberg, Easton Amberg and Parker Amberg. Funeral service are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, July 3rd at the First United Methodist church in Hickman with Rev. Henry Callison officiating. Burial will follow in the Hubbard-Amberg Family Cemetery near Hickman. Friends may call at the First United Methodist church from 11:00 AM on Friday until service time.
