Mrs. Evelyn Johnson Burns, 92, of Hickman, KY died on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Union City, TN. Mrs. Burns was a homemaker and had owned and operated Johnson Grocery in Hickman. She was of Baptist faith. She was born in Hickman on July 23, 1923 to the late Clyde and Ethie (Jones) Murphy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three husbands, Robert James Johnson, Henry E. Harris and Dick Burns, three brothers, Roy D. Murphy, James R. Murphy and Clyde (June)Murphy, Jr. and one sister, Hazel Murphy Higgs Hurt. Survivors are her son, Roger H. Johnson of Memphis, TN; daughter, Shirley Johnson Busby Kelly of Troy, TN; brother, Charles Murphy of Alabama; 9 grandchildren; Bret Johnson, Lisa Johnson McDaniel Driver, Shon Johnson, Deborah Knapp McElroy, Timothy Knapp, Mike Busby, Twana Busby Tibbs, Sharrie Busby McKenzie and Lynn Busby and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Strong Funeral Home on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Henry Callison officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Friends may call at Strong Funeral Home on Monday, November 23rd from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.
