Charles Bates Sharp, 89, of Fulton, KY went to be with his Lord at 8:30 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Born March 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Otto and Edith Sharp. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Faye Bracket, Irene Plant and Anna Maude Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Johnson Sharp, as well as their 6 children, June (Gerald) Scarborough, Charlene (Van) Ellingburg, Barry (Shirley) Sharp, Kathy (Paul) Adams, Sandy (Bart) Goodman and Bart Ryan Sharp; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Also, 3 sisters, Louise Lashlee of Baytown, TX, Florence Wilkerson of Hickman, Corrinne Castleman of Clarksville, TN and a brother-in-law, Nathan “Junie” Johnson. Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a Goodyear Tire & Rubber retiree and a member of the Liberty Baptist church. He was also a member of the American Legion. A Graveside service to honor his life will be held at the Liberty Cemetery on Tuesday, September 13th at 11:00 AM with his son-in-law, Paul Adams officiating. His grandsons, David Scarbrough, Brad Ellingburg, Ben Sharp, Lucas Goodman, Clay Goodman, Tom Moore, Jon Scott, Chad Butler and Daniel Hill will be pallbearers.
