Mrs. Helen Drewry, 93, of Hickman passed away at home on November 8, 2016. She was a member of the East Hickman Baptist Church. Mrs. Helen was very active in the Hickman Senior Citizens Center and loved the center and its members dearly. She has served on the Board of Directors there and was the writer of the Senior Citizens news for the paper for many years. Being an avid rook player at the center, she had won the Rook Tournament in the Fulton County Senior Citizens annual tournament. Mrs. Helen was born on July 12, 1923 in Tiptonville, TN to the late Alvin and Nora Hurst. Also preceding her in death were her husbands, Zack Curlin, Edmond “Curlie” Spillers and Ray Drewry, and a sister, Juanita McAlister. She is survived by her sons, David Curlin of Nashville, TN and Jackie Curlin of Hickman, KY; daughters, Elizabeth Mixon of Maryville, TN, Jeanette Collier of Martin, TN, Sandra Carrington of Martin, TN and Pat Potter of Texas; brothers, James Hurst of Samburg, TN and Frank Hurst of Union City, TN; sisters, Mary Lou Curlin of Hickman, KY, Jean Lusk of Florida, Betty Blake of Memphis, TN and Ruby Stanphill of Ridgely, TN; grandchildren, John Anthony Allen, Zack Curlin, Brian Potter, Brandi Potter, Kendall Curlin, Morgan Curlin, Chris Carrington and Melissa Edmison ; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the East Hickman Baptist church. Revs. Mark Lambert and Greg Winn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Strong Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Friday from 11:00 AM until service time at the East Baptist Church.
