David Morris Carlton

David Carlton, 65 of Hickman died on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his residence. He had been employed at the former Carborundum Plant in Hickman, retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant in Union City, TN and was presently employed at Hub’s restaurant in Hickman. David was a long time member of the Optimist club, a member of the Fulton County Booster Club and supporter of all youth sports. He attended the West Baptist Church in Hickman. David was born on September 9, 1952 in St. Louis, MO to the late Guy Morris Carlton and Betty Carlton Hill. His survivors in addition to his mother, Betty Carlton Hill include his sons, Heath (Cayce) Carlton of Hickman and Brad (Tracy) Carlton of Pace, FL; brother, Mark Carlton of Hickman; grandchildren, Jackson, Prather and JoAnna Cayt Carlton of Hickman , James and Isabella Carlton of Pace, FL David was preceded in death by his father, Guy Morris Carlton, and one brother, Gary Carlton. Funeral services will be held at Strong Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Bro. James Roberson and Bros. Jason Sipes officiating. Burial will be in the Brownsville Cemetery near Hickman. The family will receive visitors on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Strong Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 12 noon until service time. Bart White, Glen Jones, Tony Westbrooks, Scott McKnight, Cubb Stokes and Gary White will serve as pallbearers.
