Mattie Gibson

Mrs. Mattie K. Gibson, 75, of Hickman, KY passed away on February 18, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Union City, TN. Mrs. Gibson was born in Fulton County, KY on July 6, 1942. She had been employed at the former Hickman Garment Company and was of Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Callie Newsom, husband, Jewell Gibson, son, Dennis Gibson, daughter, Joyce Sublett and brothers, Jerry Newsom and James Newsom. Mrs. Gibson is survived by her sons, Jeff (Lisa Marie) Gibson of Branson, MO, George (Jo Lynn) Gibson of Union City, TN and Howard (Lisa) Gibson of Lancaster, OH; daughter, Donna (Daniel) Dunn of Union City, TN; brothers, Franklin Newsom of Union City, TN, Johnny Newsom of Memphis, TN and Gilbert Newsom of Hornbeak, TN; sisters, Betty Hamil of Hickman, KY and Lena Lavake of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Allisa Valincia, Apryl Valincia, TaVajia Wells , all of Branson, MO, Jalyn Coble, Cayden Cole, Kase-Lynn Dunn, Case Dunn and Jaxon Harris , all of Union City, TN Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Strong Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 20th at Strong Funeral Home. Bro. Henry Callison will officiate and Jeremy Newsom, Kevin Newsom, Ricky Newsom, Chuck Jobe, Daniel Dunn and Bret Johnson will be pallbearers.
