Miss Agnes Sublette, age 95, of the Rush Creek community died Monday morning, February 29, 2016 at Diversicare of Clinton.
Ms. Sublette was born on the family homeplace and continued to live there until within the last year. In her later years, she shared the homeplace with he great-nephew, Bobby, his wife Lacey, and their children, Cameron and Kennedy.
Ms. Sublette was a former teacher having taught 36 years in the Fulton County School System. She was a faithful member of the Rush Creek United Methodist Church where she had served as treasurer. Ms. Sublette was active in the Fulton - Fulton County Retired Teachers Association and the Jacob Flournoy Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by one sister Margaret Gambill of Fulton and 16 nieces and nephews in addition to numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Ms. Sublette was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Sr. and Marylou Davis Sublett, six siblings, her sisters Martha Sue Birk, Mary Bellew, Juanita Ballance and brothers, Henry Sublett, Ben Davis Sublett and Harry Sublett, Jr.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Thursday, March 3 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with interment in the Rush Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Wednesday and on Thursday until the funeral hour.
