Ann R. Hart Whitesell, age 80, formerly of Fulton,KY died
September 25, 2010 at the Normandy in River Rock, OH.
Ann Roper Whitesell was born Elizabeth Ann Roper on January 9,1930 in Fulton, KY to Frances Graham Roper and William Lawson Roper. She is an alumnus of Fulton High, 1948, Stephens
College,1950, and obtained her BS degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Missouri in 1951.
She married James Alexander Hart of Cainsville, MO on October 13, 1952. From that union, she is survived by 5 children, Rebecca Ann Minske of Cleveland,OH,
Susan Elaine Bonner of Memphis, TN, Nancy Louise Nussbaum of
Tokyo, Japan, James Brian Hart of Norfolk, VA and William Lawson Hart of Marietta, GA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren
and 4 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren. She married Robert Daughtery Whitesell of Fulton, KY in 1992.
From that union, she is survived by 5 step children: Robert D. Whitesell, Lillian Lehman, Martha Young, Betsy Whitesell and Mary Margaret Isbell. She is also survived by another 11 step grandchildren.
Ann held several different positions in her lifetime. She worked as a social worker for both the State of Missouri and the State of Indiana, a personnel director for the Girl Scouts of America and as a realtor.
She loved to travel and did so extensively. She was a member of the Eastern Star, DAR, and the United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, KY. Interment will be in the Palestine Cemetery in Fulton. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12 noon Friday until the funeral hour.
