Mrs. Betty Lou Davis Lessley, age 76, of Wichita, KS and formerly of Fulton, KY died July 4, 2013 at the
Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
She was a member of Fulton First Baptist Church before leaving the
community to enter college. She was a 1954 graduate of Fulton High
School. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from
Murray State College in 1959. She taught in several grades in
elementary schools in Paducah, KY; McCracken Co. and Graves Co.,
KY. Betty Lou moved with her family to Wichita, KY in 1983 and lived in that community for the remainder of her years. She was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church in Wichita.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Donald Lessley of Wichita,KS and a daughter Lucinda Davis Lessley Ramkumar (Vivek) of Silver Springs, MD; two sisters Pauline Davis Parker of Murray, KY and Patsy Davis Stice of Lexington, KY and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Carrie (Hodges)
Davis, two brothers Robert Davis and Burns Davis, and a sister Rebecca Davis Hutt.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, July 9 at the Greenlea Cemetery in Fulton, KY.
There will be no visitation held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at the hour of service.
