Billy Frank "Wild Bill" Phillips of the Chestnut Glade community (TN) died July 15, 2016 at his residence.
He attended the Good Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church, was
a veteran of the U.S. Army, member of Roberts Lodge 172 for over 48 years, Scottish Rite 32nd Degree, Rizpah Shrine Club, Kenn-Tenn
Shriners, Rizpah Railroaders, Road Runner, Tin Lizzies, Hillbillys, a Kentucky Colonel, Sword of Bunker Hill, Turtle, Yellow Dog, and many others. He retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company where he worked as set up man and was a well traveled man but spent most of his life in this area.
Phillips is survived by a son Billy Thomas Phillips (Yvonne) of Martin, TN,a daughter Tamara Jean Nooney (Nick Shumaker) of Jacksonville, FL,seven grandchildren Carrie Denise Knight (Kenneth) of Sidonia, TN, Jonathan Reed Phillips (Tiffany) of Martin, TN, Heather Kathleen Warthen (Chase) of Jacksonville, FL, Shannon Reagan Rose (Andy) of Orlando, FL, Madison, Mallory and Dryden Shumaker, all of Jacksonville,FL and twelve great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Jean Harwood Phillips, his parents William Luther Phillips and Beulah Mae Chappell Phillips, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, July 22 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Thursday, July 21 and Masonic service will be at 7 pm.
