He had been a truck driver for Farmers Lime Company in South
Fulton and also had been a member of the National Guard. He
had lived in this area since 1954.
He is survived by his wife - Minnie (Hall) Townsend of Union City, TN, whom he married June 4, 1949; a son and daughter in law - Dale and Shannon Townsend of Union City, TN and a daughter - Judy Gardner of South Fulton, TN. 3 grandchildren: Jimmy Workman of South Fulton,TN , Kim Slaughter of Union City, TN and Bridgette Mullins of South
Fulton,TN. 2 great grandchilden: Hailey Slaughter and Garrett Slaughter,and a sister - Marie Slaga of Chicago, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents-Clint and Erma (Hinson) Townsend and a daugher - Julia Townsend.
