Mr. Charles O. Cavaness of South Fulton died October 26, 2017 at the Tennova Healthcare Volunteer Martin ER in Martin, TN.
Charles was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church in South Fulton.He was a graduate of Bradford High School and had lived in this area for the past 17 years.He had retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he had served as Postmaster in Parsons, TN and was currently employed by the Fulton Co. Transit. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was an avid golfer and gardener. He loved to travel and loved his family.
He is survived by his wife Joanie Treas Cavaness of South Fulton, TN, whom he married March 15, 2002; a daughter Karen Lynn Cavaness of Jackson, TN, three sons Charles Daniel Cavaness of Henderson, TN, Robert Craig Cavaness of Milan, TN and E. J. Wood of Lebanon, TN; 10 grandchildren and a sister Helen Taylor of Alamo, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Frank Cavaness and
Freda Hassel Cavaness, a sister Erlene Batchlor and two brothers Jim Cavaness and Billy Cavaness.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in our chapel and visitation will be at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel from 11 am Saturday until the hour of service.
