Mr. Dan Nix of South Fulton died Saturday morning, 11/12/16 at the Tennova Healthcare-Volunteer Martin.
He was a member of the Smith Street Church of Christ in South Fulton
and was a graduate of Murray State University. He had retired from
the State Farm Insurance Agency where he worked from 1971-2006.
Dan was an avid golfer, was former member of the Rotary Club,
past president of the Fulton Country Club, past president of the Ken-
Tenn Shriners, an avid UK basketball fan, and a very active grandfather. He enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and had lived in Murray,KY, Paducah, KY and then moved to the Fulton area.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Waldrop Nix of South Fulton,TN, whom
he married June 15, 1963, a son Keith Wells Nix (Holly) of Raleigh, NC,
a daughter Amy Danielle Nix Hankins (Josh) of Gallatin, TN, five grand-
children, Hayden, Drake and Lance Nix, all of Raleigh, NC and Ethan
Hankins and Ben Hankins who is to arrive in January.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Leeman Nix and Sarah
Ola Lassiter Nix and a sister Suzanne Sprehe.
Active pallbeares will be Hayden Nix, Drake Nix, Lance Nix, Matthew Hardin,David Hardin, and Tony Sprehe; Honorary pallbearers: Don Campbell,Terry Beadles, Ted Barclay, Donnie McKnight, David Brann, Tim Britt, Bill Homra, Ethan & Ben Hankins, Phillip Andrews, Frank Woolf, Woody Brundige, Johnny Campbell, Kenneth Crews and Charles Cavaness.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Tuesday at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and interment will be in the Obion Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 am Tuesday until the funeral hour.
