David Ward Phelps, age 87, of Jackson, TN and formerly of South Fulton died September 11, 2009 at his home in Jackson.
He was former part owner of Turner Dairies of Fulton, KY and had also served as President of the First American Bank of South Fulton, TN. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fulton, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha Kathryn Floyd Phelps: 3 children, Greg W. Phelps of Murfreeboro, TN, Paul F. Phelps of South Fulton, TN and Marda Phelps Wallace of Jackson, TN: 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Ann Phelps of Washington, D.C., Gregory Paul Phelps of Fulton, KY, Sheila Rae Phelps of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Christy Phelps of Corbin, Kentucky, Bryan and Khara Phelps of Paducah, Kentucky, Tyler Phelps Wallace and William Daniel Wallace of Jackson, TN: 3 great grandchildren, Barrett Thomas Phelps of Murfreesboro, TN, David Brody Phelps and Audry Rene' Phelps of Paducah, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his father Auzie Phelps, mother Ruth
Hicks Phelps, stepmother Zuaneta Phelps & 1 brother Rupert Phelps.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with interment in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 pm on Saturday and after 8 am Sunday until the funeral hour.
