Mrs. Doris "Cookie" Adams, age 90, formerly of South Fulton,TN died October 17 at the Masonic Homes of Shelbyville, KY.
For many years she was an active member of the Rush Creek community.She was a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church and was a homemaker, Sunday School teacher, Boy Scout Leader, Kentucky Colonel,and was a Director for Senior Citizen programs in Fulton County.
Cookie was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a dear friend to many. She loved people and was a true child of God.
For the past 19 months, Cookie had been a resident of the Masonic Home of Shelbyville,KY. She was involved with many activities and was a member of the Masonic Bells Choir and Women of Virtue Group. Cookie considered the Masonic her home, the other residents and staff her family.
She is survived by a son Ronny Adams of Princeton, KY, a daughter
Barbara Harris (Gary) of Louisville, KY, three grandchildren Amy
Wiseman (Jeremy), Shelby Adams and Richard Adams, three great
grandchildren Sara-Kate, Ethan, and Lucy Wiseman and a nephew
Tony Slayden of Fulton,KY.
Born January 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Hal and Cynthia McQueen of Tiptonville, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by loving husband and father of their children, Richard Adams of Cayce, KY, and husband Robert Richardson of Sterling, MO and two sons Ricky and Randy Adams and a sister Edna Slayden.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 22 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and interment will be in the Rush Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-7 pm on Friday, October 21.
