Long-time Obion County resident Dorothy Beach of South Fulton died
in Jackson TN on January 4, 2011. She was 87 years old.
Dot and her husband, Ray lived in Obion County for a number of years, first in Union City and then in South Fulton after returning from East Tennessee following Ray's retirement.
Dot was born in Lynn Grove KY to Carl and Laura Kemp on March 26,
1923. She and Ray were married on August 31, 1940 in Highland
Park, MI, and moved back to Kentucky and Tennessee a few years after the war, first living near Mayfield KY and then moving to Union City in the late 50's.
Dot was an avid bridge player and quilter, but she also had other hobbies such as playing golf, reading and working crossword puzzles. She and Ray had many close friends through the years and had built life-long
relationships with them.
Dot loved her family, loved her friends, and loved her church.
She is survived by her husband Ray; sons, Ray (Ann) of Pensacola FL; David (Suzanne) of Destin FL; Rick (Bronwyne) of Pensacola FL; Jim (Lynda) of Roseville CA; daughter, Jan (Rick) Everett of Dresden TN and her sister, Faye Crawford of Hopkinsville KY. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and
nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Janurary 7, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel , 302 Carr Street, Fulton KY 42041. Funeral services will be held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel on Saturday January 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Obion
County Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First Christian Church, Disciples in Christ Memorial Fund, 108 Carr Street, Fulton KY 42041.
