Dorothy Louise Stauffer White, (Dottie), 82, of Fulton passed away on February 6, 2025 in Arizona surrounded by her family.
Dottie - or “Bitty” as she was known to her family growing up, was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Harry Russell Stauffer and Bertha Blakeley Stauffer on December 28, 1942.
She married the love of her life James Phillip White (Phil) on April 7, 1961 in Charleston SC and began a life of an Air Force wife where she thrived “blooming where you are planted”. Phil and Dottie went on to have a daughter Jaime and a son while they traveled up and down Air Force bases along the East coast while Phil flew the big planes for the USAF. Phil and Dottie retired to the family farm in Fulton, KY after his father passed away making this the last move for them. Dottie worked as a legal secretary for Warren and Warren in Fulton for several years and also as a free lance stenographer/court reporter. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and socializing with friends and family. She was a true “firecracker” who exuded southern charm despite being born in Pennsylvania.
Starting in 1991 she and Phil spent their winters in Florida where they enjoyed the warm sunshine with many friends. In 1995 they became grandparents for the first time and from then on were known as “Nanatucky and Papatucky” to their grandchildren.
Dottie is survived by her daughter Jaime Koziol, son-in-law Chris Koziol and their children: Blakeley Koziol, Nashville TN, Casey Koziol, Phoenix, AZ and Travis Koziol, Paradise Valley, AZ. She also has a grandson Dylan Petersen, Atlanta, GA.
As requested by Dottie, the family is planning a graveside memorial service “when it’s warm”. We hope to see those who wish to pay their respects on May 10th at 1pm at the Enon Cemetery on Hwy 307 and 94, Fulton, KY with a celebration of life to follow at the family farm.
Dottie and Phil were strong believers in supporting America’s veterans. Any memorials can be made to the DAV - Disabled American Veteran
