Mr. Edgar Lee "Jack" Johnson, Sr.
of South Fulton,TN died February 25,2010 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, TN.
He was a member of the Jacksonville Freewill Baptist Church where he was an usher and chairman of the trustee board. He had retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Union City, TN and was a member of the Jacksonville Lodge # 50 Free and Accepted Masons where he had served as Junior Deacon.
He is survived by his wife Vernell Hunter Johnson of South Fulton, TN,whom he married July 2, 1955, a son and daughter in law Edgar L. Johnson, Jr. & (Lavossie) of South Fulton,TN and a daughter Rheta R. Johnson of Bowie, MD; 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Helen Smith of St. Louis, MO and Shirley Porter of Bowling
Green, OH; 3 brothers and sisters in law Thomas J. Johnson(Connie)
of El Paso, TX, Frank Thomas (Ruby Jean) of South Fulton, TN and Joe Louis Williams (Doris) of Clinton, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents John B. Smith and Josie
Lee Thomas Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday, March 5, 2010 at the South Fulton Baptist Church and interment will be in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:30 - 8 pm on Thursday. Masonic Services will be held at 6 pm.
