Mrs. Iola “Olie” Stroud Rice, age 88, of Nashville and formerly of South Fulton, TN died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Trevecca Center for Rehab & Healing in Nashville, TN.
She was a loving Mother who was devoted to family. She was retired from Henry I. Siegal Co. where she made Chic Jeans for 23 years. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Clinton, KY.
She is survived by her three daughters and a son-in-law, Lana and Scott Heavin of Fletcher, OK, Julie Rice of Knightdale, NC, and Cindy Rice of Nashville, TN.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leon Rice, her parents Lois and Nina Allison Stroud, and five brothers Raford Stroud, Dana Stroud, Audell Stroud, Julian Stroud and Mahlon Stroud.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2018, at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Clinton, KY and interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in South Fulton, TN. Visitation will be Thursday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel – Fulton, KY from 4 –7 pm. Mrs. Rice will lie in state at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church from 10 am Friday until the funeral hour.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, c/o Lilly Kimbell, 2393 ST. RT. 58 E, Clinton, KY 42031.
