James “Buddy” Gammon, age 84, of South Fulton,TN died September 25, 2014 at 10:35 pm at Baptist Health of Paducah.
He was a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church, were he served
as a deacon and was a member of the Barnes Sunday School Class; he
was owner/operator & President of James Gammon & Sons, Inc. and was a past chairman for the Gideons. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he received a purple heart. He had lived in Martin,TN and South Fulton, TN.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Miles Gammon of South Fulton,
TN, two sons Stan Gammon (Jennifer) and Tom Gammon (Debbie)
and a daughter Melanie Hawks (Mike), all of South Fulton, TN; Six
grandchildren Alex Hicks (James), Landry Webster, Tori Gammon,
Corbin Hawks, Harrison Hawks, all of South Fulton, TN and Sara
Howard (T.J.) of Nashville, TN; a sister Joyce Robbins of
Southaven,MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Gassaway and
Thelbert A. Gammon, Sr. and two brothers William Gammon and
T.A. Gammon, Jr.
Funeral service will be Sunday, Sept. 28 at 2 pm at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with interment in the Obion Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home
from 12 noon Sunday until the funeral hour.
