Mr. John B. Hancock, age 93, of South Fulton, TN died Monday,
April 24, 2017 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in
Paducah, KY.
He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, was a
United States Army Veteran, where he served in World War II, a member
of Robert's Lodge #172, Eastern Star Lodge #41, Jackson, TN VFW Post,
Fulton American Legion Post # 72 and a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Hancock
was a Conductor for the Illinois Central Railroad and had lived in this area all of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Conway Hancock, whom he
married March 20, 1950 and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a son, Daniel B. Hancock, his parents Elmer
Hancock and Lula Johnson Hancock Weems, a brother Bobby Hancock,
a sister Betty Robey and a half sister Linda Pruitt.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, April 27 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and interment will follow in the Greenlea Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-7 pm on Wednesday and from 12 noon Thursday until the funeral hour.
