John R. Lawson

Mr. John R. Lawson, age 78, of Knoxville, formerly of Fulton, KY, died Monday evening, April 12, 2010 in Knoxville. John was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and a former member of South Fulton Baptist Church. He was a long time employee of OK Parisian Laundry, an insurance agent for National Life, and a former owner of Fulton Singer Sewing Center.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Conner Lawson; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Dr. Lionel McCollum of Knoxville; granddaughters, Lauren McCollum of New York City and Kristen McCollum of Knoxville; sister and brother-in-law, Shelby and Kenneth Mizell of Manchester; sister-in-law, Helen Lawson of South Fulton; and several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Velma Lawson and brother, Jimmy Lawson.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Friday, April 16,2010 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Obion Co. Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
