Mrs. Marilyn Work Foster, age 83, of Gallatin, TN passed away peacefully Friday, June 10, 2016 at her residence after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was a graduate
of the 1950 class of Cuba High School, she was a resident of Gallatin since 1992 moving there from Hempstead, NY where she had been formerly employed by Beneficial Finance, White Castle, Grants Department Store, General Electric and a homemaker. Even in her declining years, she continued to be a wellspring of courage, love and devotion. Marilyn had a beauty, easy social grace, even temperament and playful sense of humor. She leaves her family, a circle of beloved friends and community. Mrs. Foster attended Freedom Church in Gallatin, TN.
She is survived by a daughter, Jill K. Foster of Gallatin, TN, two sons; Jonathan D.(Deborah) Foster of Gallatin, TN and Jeffrey L. (Cheryl) Foster of LaVergne, TN, a grandson, Sean E. Foster of Dallas, TX, a great-grandson, Jarred W. Foster of South Korea, two brothers; Jerry (Jan) Work of South Fulton, TN and Macon (Peggy) Work of Mayfield, KY and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Edwin Foster, and infant son Curtis Edwin Foster, three brothers; Wayne Work, Sammie Work and Jesse Work.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM Tuesday in our funeral chapel with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Glynn Copeland officiating. Visitation will be held from 11AM Tuesday until the hour of service.
