Mattie McClerkin

Mrs. Mattie (Brown) McClerkin, 91, of Union City, TN, formerly of Hickman, KY went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 25, 2019.  She died at the Obion County Nursing Home where she had been residing for several years. 

Funeral services for Mrs. McClerkin will be held at the Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church in Woodland Mills, TN on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 1:00 P.M.  Rev. James Jones will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Michael McClerkin, Terry Avery, Tony Brown, Walter Avery, Jr., Keith McClerkin, Preston Pearson, Jr., Ivan McClerkin, and Prestis McClerkin, Jr.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, March, 2019 at the Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clay Brown and Georgia (Wheeler) Brown, husband, Cortez McClerkin, sons, Jessie, Bobby , Harry and Sam McClerkin, three brothers and six sisters.

Mrs. McClerkin is survived by her son, Walter Avery of Union City, TN, daughters, Marilyn McClerkin of Hickman, Solo Mae McClerkin of Toledo, OH, Mary Ann Buntyn of Zenix, OH and Mary Lois Wilson of Mayfield, KY, sister, Mary Frances Brown of Youngstown, OH, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
