Miriam Wright Gardner, age 92, of South Fulton, TN died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Haws Memorial Nursing Home in Fulton, KY.
She was the widow of Paul Clark Gardner. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She grew up in Moscow and Clinton, KY. She attended Lambuth College, worked 31 years for Bell South Telephone Company. In the years with Bell South she served as a manager over the telephone operations in Union City and Humbolt, TN. She also did a lot of instructing of new procedures over the Jackson District and served on the staff of a school in Nashville that selected future management employees.
Mrs. Gardner has been active over the years in her church serving on executive board, teaching adult Sunday school classes and worked in the women's mission work and served on the local district and conference level as an officer.
She was an active member of the Fulton Women's Club and the genealogy society.
She is survived by a stepson Frank Gardner of Midway, KY and several cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Sewell and Dessie DeWeese Wright and her sister Mildred Wright.
Graveside services will be held at 1PM Wednesday, November 19 at Greenlea Cemetery. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at the hour of service.
