Mr. Raymond Cleo Anderson, age 94, of Water Valley, KY died November 10, 2009 at 12:10 p.m. at the Van Ayer Manor Nursing Home in Martin, TN.
He was a member of the Waverly Hall Baptist Church in Waverly Hall, GA and he was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a retired motor pool sergeant and had lived in this area most of his life.
He is survived by his wife Govie McClure Anderson of Water Valley, KY;3 sons and a daughter in law, Raymond C. Anderson, Jr. (Marcia)
and Steven A. Anderson all of Valdosta, Georgia, James E. Falls of Tifton, GA; 6 daughters and 5 sons in law Elizabeth A. Wade (Warner) of Columbus, GA, Susan G. Peacock (Aubrey) of Fortson, GA, Karen D. Wright (Donald) of Palm Bay, FL, Debra K. Rollins (Barry)of Valdosta, GA, Donna J. Bellew of Clinton, KY and Jeri Hayes (Keith)of Martin, TN; 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 step sons and 2 step daughters.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Inez Madelyn Ford Anderson, his parents Ollie Alderdice Anderson and Moses Claude Anderson, a daughter Linda S. Anderson, 5 brothers James Anderson, M.C. Anderson, Delbert Anderson, Halbert Anderson, Wayne Anderson and a sister Dorothy Minerch.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 13,2009 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Thursday and anytime on Friday until the funeral hour. A graveside service will be held at the Waverly Hall City Cemetery in Waverly Hall, Georgia at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009.
