He was a member and the current minister of the Pleasant View General Baptist Church in Water Valley, KY. and served in the ministry for the past thirtyfive years. He retired as a school bus driver after 17 years of service
for the Obion County School System in 2010. He was a former member of the Army National Guard in Union City, TN. serving in the Engineer Unit. He had lived all of his life in this area.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Glidewell Gordon to whom he married in 1960, his mother Lela Pearl (Clements) Gordon of Palmersville, KY., four daughters, Sandra Owens of Fulton, KY., Kathy Coggins of Cookeville, TN., Patricia Hunter of Kenton, TN., Lisa Powell of Mayfield, KY., one son, Jerry
Gordon of Troy, TN., three sisters, Virginia Cole and Pat Cook both of Union City, TN., Ann Hayden of Martin, TN., two brothers, Roger Dale Gordon of Fulton, KY., Bobby Gordon of Palmersville, TN., twenty grandchildren, forty seven
great grandchildren and also several neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father William Alfred Gordon, one son, one grandson, one great grandaughter, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Saturday in our funeral chapel. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Fulton County KY. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM Friday and anytime Saturday until the funeral hour.
