Samuel David Grissom

Mr. Samuel David Grissom, age 81, formerly of the Ruthville community died February 17 at the Lake Placid Health Care Center
in Lake Placid, FL.
He was a member of the McConnell Baptist Church and retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years of service and was also
a farmer. He was formerly of the Ruthville community and had lived in Lake Placid, FL since 1999.
He is survived by his wife Joyce May Grissom to whom he married
June 16, 1956, of Lake Placid, FL, two sons, David (Carol) Grissom of Huntington Beach, CA, Daniel Grissom of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and two sisters, Wanda Jackson of Murray, KY, and Dorothie Engstrom of Pulaski, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Dewey and Corene
Jones Grissom, and two brothers, Dwight Grissom and Travice Wallace Grissom.
Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday, February 23 at the McConnell Baptist Church and interment will be in the Obion Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel from 5-8 pm on Friday. Mr. Grissom will lie in state at the McConnell Baptist Church from 10 am Saturday until the funeral hour.
