Saralee Powers

Saralee M. Powers, 90 died at 9 a.m. Thursday at Washington Nursing Center.

Born Oct, 05, 1919 in Kevil, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Leon and Eunie (House) Massie.

She graduated in 1936 from Fulton High School in Fulton, Kentucky.

She retired from B & D Electric Company in 1990. Earlier she worked as Church Secretary at Central Christian Church.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities over the years, including as a member of the Board.

She was an active volunteer for much of her life and won several awards, including one from the State of Indiana. She was also a past-president of Tri-Kappa Sorority.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Jerry Armes of Dallas, TX, a son and daughter-in law, Ric and Carol Powers of Perry, GA; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jennifer and Clyde Ruckle of Las Vegas, NV, two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Kyle Ruckle, and a sister, Martha Sue Thomas of Lubbock, TX.

Her husband, William Thomas Powers, whom she married in 1941, preceded her in death in 1973.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, 11 a.m. at Palestine Cemetery, Fulton, KY where she will join four generations of her Kentucky pioneer ancestors.
