Minister Thomas "Tommy" Pruitt, age 63, of South Fulton, TN died May 4, 2013 at his home.
He was a member of the Brooks Chapel Ministries in Fulton and served as an elder and leader of Christian education. He had retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Union City, TN after 32 years of service and was a sergeant in the National Guard where he served for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Oma J. Pruitt of South
Fulton, TN, three sons Darren Pruitt of South Fulton, Pastor Gregory (Evon)Pruitt of Murray, KY and Preston "Trey" Pearson of Trenton, TN, seven grandchildren and two Godchildren Bryant Nall and Bria Hickman, both of
Nashville, TN; a brother William "Bill" Pruitt of Knoxville, TN and two sisters
Patricia Hayes of Paducah, KY and Velmeter Hines of Memphis, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mattie Hayes and Thomas Pruitt,Sr., his step mother Rose Pruitt, and a daughter Shelia Pruitt.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 8 at 1 pm at the Brooks Chapel Ministries in Fulton with interment in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, May 7. Minister Pruitt will lie in state at the Brooks Chapel Ministries Church from 11:30 am Wednesday until the funeral hour.
