Virginia Haygood Box, 90, of Waynesville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at the Homestead hospice facility on Monday, December 19, 2016.
She was born November 10, 1926, in Weakley County, Tennessee, the eighth child of David and Inez Murrell Mathis.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Dale Haygood (Tina) of Waynesville, North Carolina, and Larry Haygood (Merry) of Janesville, Wisconsin; daughters, Elizabeth Waller (Charles) of Portland, Tennessee, and Diane Richardson (Mark) of Spring, Texas; stepchildren, James Jones (Katherine), Jerry Jones (LaVonda) and Sarah Miller (Keith); sister, Muriel Jones; eleven grandchildren and seven step grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
