Mrs. Virginia Nell Buckingham Newton, age 91, formerly of South Fulton,TN died April 3, 2010 in Texas.
Mama Nell as she was affectionately known by all who knew and loved her, loved to play golf and cards, but most of all she loved her family and
will be dearly missed by all of us. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton, KY and had worked as a clerk at the former Daisy Clothing Store in So. Fulton,TN.
Mrs. Newton is survived by a daughter, Margaret Newton Shirah
of Edinburg, Texas, and 2 sons and daughters in law, James Harold
(Sharon) Newton, Fulton, KY and Lynn (Vicki) Newton of Jonesboro,
Arkansas. She also leaves 8 grandchildren,Ann Shirah Guerra,Amy Shirah Vasquez, Andrea Shirah Hernandez and Walter "Bo"
Shirah all of Edinburg, Texas, John Kyle Newton, Ft. Worth, Texas, Jenna Newton Stafford, Jonesboro,Arkansas, Jim "Jimbo" Newton,Birmingham, Alabama and Melissa Dawn Newton, Fulton, KY and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Levi and Lena Belle
Murrell Buckingham, her husband of 71 years, C.H. "Sparky" Newton, 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am Friday, April 9, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Fulton, KY. There will be no visitation or services held at the funeral home and friends are asked to meet at the church at the hour of service.
