Mr. W.D. Powers, age 85, of Fulton,KY died Wednesday, July 28 at his home.
He was a member of the Parkway Church of Christ in Fulton, KY and had been a former employee of the City of Fulton where he had served as the Public Works Director. He was also a longtime greeter at the Fulton Walmart store.
He is survived by his 2 sisters Virginia Redden of Water Valley, KY and Elizabeth Etherton of Fulton, KY; a nephew, whom he raised, William Jackson of Fulton,KY, also several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sammie Lou (Hutchens) Powers, and his parents Nancy (Barker) and Oliver Lee Powers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, July 30th at the Parkway Church of Christ at 1301 Middle Rd. in Fulton. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Dukedom, TN. Visitation will be at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel from 5-8 pm on Thursday, July 29th. Mr. Powers will lie in state at the Parkway Church of Christ from 10 am Friday until the funeral hour.
