Mr. William Bart Netherland, age 87, of South Fulton died May 15, 2014 at his home.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton,KY,
was a U.S. Navy veteran who had served in World War II; was a
retired clerk for the Illinois Central Railroad and was a retired farmer; was a longtime Obion Co. Road Commissioner and was a member of the American Legion Post 72 in Fulton. He had lived in South Fulton - Obion Co. all of his life.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Underwood Netherland,a son and daughter in law David and Nikki Netherland and a daughter Pam Dame, all of South Fulton, TN; five grandchildren Brad Dame of South Fulton,TN, Craig Dame of College Grove, TN, Becky Burnett of Union City, TN, Brent Netherland of Fairview, TN and Bart Netherland of Cookeville, TN; five great grandchildren Max Dame of South Fulton,TN, Jack Dame & Maci Kate Dame, both of College Grove, TN, and Braxton Burnett and Bryce Burnett, both of Union City,TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nona(Eskridge) and William
Silas Netherland, three sisters and one brother.
A graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, May 18 at the Obion Co. Memorial Gardens in Union City, TN. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at the hour of service.
