Mr. William Leslie “Bill” Hale of Hornbeak, TN died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN.
He had retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company after 25 years of service and from the Army National Guard. He was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He was the former owner of Bryant's Camp at Reelfoot Lake. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Hale is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dorothy Mae McTurner, three daughters Leslie (Kevin) Mills of Jackson, TN, Cynde Hale and Beth Hale, both of Clarksville, TN, a son Billy Don Hale of Savannah, TN, two stepdaughters Brenda King of Gadsden, AL and Linda (Jeff) Hayes of Shawtown,TN and stepson Paul (Jan) King of Shawtown, TN.; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 4 sisters Rona Butts of Paducah, KY, Sandra Bolin of Winter Springs, FL, Joyce Hale and Brenda (Terry) Pulley, all of Fulton, KY and a brother Jerry (Peggy) Hale of South Fulton,TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eston and Olive Bauer Hale, a brother Bob Hale, a grandson Gary Mooney, Jr. and a step daughter Sue Evans.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 Tuesday at the Union Cemetery with Rev. Terry Pulley officiating. Visitation will be at the Hornbeak Funeral Home from 1 pm Tuesday until time to leave for the cemetery for graveside service.
