Honoring Veterans

Honoring Veterans

Our staff is committed to providing quality service and professional assistance to help families complete the necessary forms to obtain benefits that are provided through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs for deceased veterans.

Veteran Burial Benefits

The veterans death benefits help cover the burial, funeral and transportation costs associated with the deceased’s services and disposition.

  • Along with organizing honors related to the service, we can assist in coordinating with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to arrange for the following:
  • Presidential Memorial Certificate: A certificate that recognizes the veteran's service, personalized with their name and signed by the President.
  • Headstones or Markers: The VA provides headstones and markers for veterans' graves worldwide and for eligible dependents buried in national, state, or military cemeteries.
  • Memorial Plots: For veterans whose remains are not available for burial, the VA offers a plot, along with a headstone or marker, in a national cemetery for memorial purposes. For placement in non-national cemeteries, the VA provides the headstone or marker but not the burial plot.
  • Burial in a National Cemetery: This includes the gravesite, grave opening and closing, a grave liner, and ongoing maintenance of the site.
  • Burial Expense Reimbursement: The VA may reimburse certain burial costs. For more details on eligibility and benefits, refer to their Guide to VA Burial Allowances.

Who Qualifies?

  • A veteran who didn’t receive a dishonorable discharge
  • A service member who died while on active duty, active duty for training, or inactive duty for training
  • The spouse or minor child of a veteran, even if the veteran died first
  • In some cases, the unmarried adult dependent child of a veteran
  • Active duty military members or those serving in the Selected Reserve.
  • Former service members who completed active duty with an honorable discharge.
  • Veterans who fulfilled at least one term of enlistment or their initial service obligation in the Selected Reserve and left under honorable conditions.
  • Former Selected Reserve members discharged due to a service-connected disability.
