Where to Begin

WE ARE HERE FOR YOu

Where To Begin

Immediately After a Loss

If a loved one passes away at home or in a location that isn’t a healthcare facility, you’ll need to contact emergency services before we can bring them into our care. If they were under a doctor’s care, it’s also recommended to notify their physician.

When a loved one passes away in a healthcare facility, the staff will notify the necessary authorities. If the funeral home information is on file, they will inform us directly.

Emergency and medical personnel will assist you in obtaining the medical certificate and other required documents during this time.

This is often one of the most emotional moments, and we are here to support you through it. If you’re uncertain about what steps to take, please call us anytime for guidance.

In the First Few Days

Reach out to close friends and family members to share the news, either through personal calls or a death notice. If this feels overwhelming, it’s okay to ask someone you trust for help.

This is also the time to review any prearranged funeral plans your loved one may have made. If no plans were made, you can start thinking about key decisions, including:

  • Burial or cremation
  • For burial: the type of casket and final resting place (grave or mausoleum)
  • For cremation: the type of urn and final resting place (burial or scattering)
  • Any religious or spiritual services needed, such as clergy or faith leaders
  • The type of service: a viewing, funeral, memorial, graveside service, or other options

You don’t need to have all the answers right away. We’re here to walk you through the options and make the process as smooth as possible. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for support and guidance.

The Next Steps

When we meet to discuss arrangements, we will provide a detailed price list to help you understand the cost of our services.

We’ll spend time learning about your loved one to create a service that truly reflects their life. This is an opportunity to share their story, cherished memories, and accomplishments while expressing your ideas and preferences. Using this information, we’ll help design a personalized and meaningful tribute.

This process may involve:

  • Preparing and filing the death certificate
  • Scheduling services and events, including selecting the location, date, and time
  • Choosing a casket, urn, or other necessary items
  • Writing an obituary
  • Coordinating transportation
  • Selecting pallbearers

What to Bring:

To make the process as smooth as possible, please bring the following details about your loved one:

  • Full legal name and home address
  • Social Security number
  • Date and place of birth
  • Names of parents, including the mother’s maiden name
  • Veteran’s discharge papers (DD-214), if applicable
  • Education level
  • Occupation
  • Burial location details, if applicable
  • Clergy name and contact information, if needed
  • Names and relationships of surviving family members

We aim to make this process as straightforward and stress-free as possible, supporting you every step of the way.
